What are your office hours?
My workday starts at 8 am, Monday through Friday. My last appointment is usually 3 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 1 pm on Fridays. I rarely check messages past 5 pm or on weekends, but you’re welcome to leave me a message. I’ll respond the next business day.
How long is a typical session?
I schedule sessions for 50 minutes. I suggest we start with weekly sessions, but we can discuss what frequency of our sessions works best for your needs.
How do I pay?
I accept most credit cards, FSA, and HSA cards. I use Stripe to process payments. Please ensure your credit card is on file with me so I can process your payment at the end of your session.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
Before scheduling your session, let’s spend 15 minutes talking by phone to give you a chance to ask any questions about me, my practice, and how I would help with your concerns. If I feel like you’d benefit from working with a different therapist, I will let you know and help you find someone more suitable.
Who is your perfect client?
I enjoy clients who aren’t afraid to show their feelings, even the ugly ones, and want to be the best version of themselves. I understand that some people occasionally need to vent. Still, long-lasting change depends on moving past complaining so you can begin learning tools to help you cope with those difficult people and situations in life.
What is therapy like with you?
Clients have told me I’m approachable and easy to talk to, and they feel comfortable sharing their deepest pain. When appropriate, I add levity and humor to help us recognize there is a place for laughter amidst the more complex feelings like anger and sadness.
Is there anyone you will not see?
I don’t work with children or anyone under the age of 18. I also don’t see couples. If you would benefit from working with a therapist trained in a different modality, such as EMDR, I will let you know.
Is our work confidential?
Absolutely! I take your trust in me very seriously, and I won’t break your confidence unless I suspect you are in danger of hurting yourself or someone else. There are instances where I am mandated to report abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Am I allowed to ask personal questions?
Certainly! You might want to know who I am and whether I can relate to you and your life. Just like you, I may or may not feel comfortable sharing personal information.
Cat or dogs?
Both. I had a cat for 18 years and would do it again if I wasn’t allergic. I currently share my home with two retired racing greyhounds.
